LCD versus PLASMA TELEVISION


LCD -Liquid Crystal Display and PLASMA television both are recently invented technology .


Here we will compare both the techniques and their advantages and disadvantages

SCREEN SIZE:

In plasma screen size ranges from 32 to 63 inches, though larger size such as 103 inch is available but this will be more expensive for consumer use
In LCD screen size ranges from 13 to 45 inches
At present winner is PLASMA, in near future LCD can beat plasma .

REFRESHING RATE:

Plasma tv's have a high refreshing rate because of high refreshing rate they will give a better video
LCD are basically used for viewing data than video , it has a low refresh rate.

PRODUCT LIFE:

Plasma television have a life time of around 30,000 to 60,000 hours. When we use an television for an average of 3 to 4 hours a day it will live around 16 years.
LCD will not have that much life when compared to plasma.

WEIGHT:

Plasma television are slightly more heavier when compared with the LCD televisions.
With respect to weight LCD wins the competition.

TRANSPORTATION:

Plasma televisions are hard to transportation since they have a large glass, and they have to be handled carefully. LCD can be easily shipped.

SCREEN THICKNESS:

LCD televisions are slightly thinner than plasma television

Each one has its merits and demerits.Buying a LCD will be better than plasma sets.
