DASAVATHARAM STORY OVERVIEW

The story starts with an incident taking place in 12th century when Hindus were divided into Saivites and Vaishnavites. Rangarajan Nambi (Kamal.1) is a loyal disciple of Ramanuja Azhwar. King Kulothunga (Napolean - what a fantastic performance!), a follower of Lord Siva, compels Nambi to worship Lord Siva instead of Lord Vishnu but Nambi refuses. The king then orders to throw the statue of Lord vishnu along with Nambi into the sea.

After this first avatar, the movie shifts to the present world America. Govind (Kamal.2)scientist invents a dangerous bio weapon in his lab but wants to destroy the it after realizing its dangerous, but the US Govt and scientists don’t allow him to do that. One fine day, Govind runs away from the lab with the bio weapon but Fletcher (Kamal.3), a former CIA officer turned villian, chases him to get the weapon back to destroy other countries.

The weapon by mistake sent to an Indian address by courier where a 95 year old lady (Kamal.4) receives the parcel. Govind immediately rushes to India and traces down the address followed by Fletcher accompanied by his prostitute cum translator (Mallika Sherawat). The old lady refuses to give the weapon to them without understanding the danger it could cause and puts it inside a statue of Lord Vishnu.

The scientist captures the statue and starts running with it pulling Asin close relative of the old lady, along with.A foolish police officer Balram Naidu (Kamal.5) too is in the race always chasing both these characters.

In between a Punjabi singer (Kamal.5), US President George Bush (Kamal.6), a tall Muslim (Kamal.7), a martial arts trainer (Kamal.8) and a Southern district resident Annachi (Kamal.9) comes.

Finally the tsunami comes to the rescue of the Scientist and destroys the weapon along with drowning Fletcher . The statue of Lord Rangaraja which was immersed in the sea in 12th century also appears on the shore after the tsunami.

MAIDEN GRAND SLAM FOR ANA IVANOVIC

New world number one Ana Ivanovic made up for last year's disappointment by claiming her first Grand Slam title with a 6-4 6-3 victory over Dinara Safina in the French Open women's final. The world No.2 Ivanovic was successful at her third attempt in a Grand Slam final.Last year at the French Open nerves got the best of her and she was demolished by clay-court specialist Justine Henin. Safina, the younger sister of two-time Grand Slam winner Marat Safin, was unable to repeat her previous heroics in the Paris tournament.

In the second set Ivanovic made a crucial break in the third game, and even though there were many opportunities for the result to switch, concentrated and determined Ivanovic ran towards her goal and won the set and match with her powerful game on her first match point.

This victory is huge for the 20-year-old Ivanovic being her maiden Grand Slam title and it’s also special for her country as Ivanovic became the first Serbian woman to win a Grand Slam, and just a few days ago she became the first Serb to reach the No.1 ranking.

OBAMA WINS DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL ELECT

It's official. Obama has won the Democratic Party nomination for the US Presidency. U.S. Senator Barack Obama clinched the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday night, becoming the first African American presidential nominee of a major U.S. party in history. Obama now has passed the threshold of 2,118 national convention delegates needed to clinch this year's Democratic nomination.
2007

JAN 16: Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois launches his campaign by forming a presidential exploratory committee, saying voters are hungry for change.

JAN 20: Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York announces she is joining the presidential race. She is considered the early favorite for the nomination.

JUNE 3: On the final day of the primary race, Obama draws enough superdelegates to win the nomination.
And now the situation is that hillary is drawing out of the race to back obama,as he's now the democratic candidate for the presidential election.

The Democrats seem to stand a good chance to beat Republicans in this presidential election and that boosts Obama's odds against his Republican opponent McCain in the general election. Though voters now prefer Democratic policy positions on most major issues, Obama has only a 0.7-percent lead over McCain in the RealClear Politics average of polls.

RAJASTHAN ROYALS DESERVING IPL CHAMPS

Rajasthan Royals held their nerve in a pressure cooker situation to seal the inaugural IPL title in the last ball before a jam packed D Y Patil Stadium in Navi mumbai on Sunday.Despite its share of controversies and the heady mix of glamour and cricket, the Indian Premier League's first edition would be best remembered for the triumph of the underdog wherein a retired spin legend inspired the cheapest franchisee of the event to title win.Rajasthan Royals grabbed victory in a very exciting final.Indian won the 20-20 final as an underdog with lot of new team members. Rajasthan Royals also do the same.

India’s newest cricket star Yousuf Pathan sparkled with both the bat and ball to guide Rajasthan Royals to a tense, final-ball triumph over Chennai Super Kings in the IPL final here on Sunday night.A galaxy of international stars might have added fizz to the IPL but it was India’s most improved domestic player who mattered most in the tense final.

Unlike in the two semi-finals, neither team held a clear advantage at the end of the first innings. The Chennai Super Kings paced their innings well, not trying anything too rash, and a collective effort took them to a fighting 163. Rajasthan Royals weren’t as dominant with the ball as they’ve usually been but Yousuf Pathan’s three strikes ensured that the game never really got away.

Warne-led Jaipur outfit chasing a competitive 164-run target got off to a solid start after the innovative Asnodkar got into the act but stuttered in the middle before Yusuf Pathan wrested the game from Super Kings with a blistering 39-ball 56. Pathan's knock left Royals with a not-so-diifficult equation of 8 runs in last over.
